MOCHA – At least two bank guards were killed and four civilians wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in front of the bank on Wednesday in the city of Mocha, Taiz province.
According to officials, one of the soldiers was killed immediately and the second died of his wounds in the hospital.
The explosion was the second in the city in less than two weeks, after an explosive device detonated at the end of last month at a popular cafe, killing six people and wounded 20.
Mocha has military bases that are being used by the Saudi-led coalition for providing supplies and reinforcements to its forces stationed on the Hodeidah frontline. However, as is the case with nearly every part of Saudi-occupied Yemen, the security situation is highly unstable, with terrorist organisations and armed gangs roaming around and engaging in violent confrontations at a regular basis.
