The Yemeni Missile Forces have yet again successfully launched a ballistic missile on a Saudi military base.
According to early reports, a Qaher-M2 was launched towards a special forces base in the province of Nijran, across the Saudi border. The missile was reportedly aimed specifically at the Apache helicopter pods inside the base, in an effort to cripple the Saudi aerial equipment.
Whether or not the missile hit its target is as of yet unknown. The latest missile attack comes in a row of daring missile launches by the Yemeni forces on Saudi forces, after a missile attack in December targeted the Saudi royal palace in Riyadh.
The Qaher-M2 is a state-of-the-art domestically produced Yemeni short-range ballistic missile, that is a modernisation of the Qaher-1 that was developed in 2015, and originally based on the Soviet S-75 missile.
