SHABWAH -Saudi-backed Hadi loyalist forces, in cooperation with Islah party militants, have on Tuesday brought military reinforcements to Yemen’s southern province of Shabwah, sources said.
The reinforcements, including a number of military tankers carrying tanks, armored vehicles, and Katyusha rockets, moved from Ma’rib and headed to Ataq city, the capital of Shabwah.
The move came after Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had issued a joint statement, which does not oblige the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias to withdraw from military sites and camps in Aden and Abyan.
The sources added that in response, Hadi had threatened Saudi Arabia with resigning and rejected the Jeddah dialogue following the lack of a strong statement against the STC.
