SANA’A – A top security official working for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) occupation forces in the southern port city of Aden has admitted on Monday that the city has become a haven for mercenary gangs and terrorists.
“Aden’s days and nights have become similar to hell, and death surrounds us everywhere,” Colonel Ali al-Dhib, Deputy Director of security in Aden, wrote in an article on Monday, adding that many leading figures of society have been assassinated, and many others threatened into submission in fear of imminent death.
Ever since the capture of Aden by Saudi and Emirati invaders in 2015, the city has been victim of constant infighting between armed gangs terrorizing the local population. Especially since the UAE took full control of the southern port city in October, the situation has grown ever more dire.
Several groups vie for control of Aden, including southern Yemeni separatists, Wahhabi organisations, tribal coalitions, and a variety of either Saudi-backed or UAE-backed armed gangs. Several reports by established media outlets have proven that the UAE is also employing specialized death squads to carry out assassinations against military, security, political and religious figures in the city.
